The Big Day
Went to my post office box today and to my great surprise there was the first copy of my new yet to be released BOOK! It’s a very exciting moment opening the package and I savoured it quietly sitting in the car. The cover, which I initially had reservations about, looks truly excellent particularly with the author name in a dark red foil against the cloudy background. The weight of it is really nice, it’s the large format and sort of floppy and soft. I opened it and started reading it and, by jove, it was GOOD! Even if I do say so myself. After the launch of my last novel I went to bed and during the night had the sensation of people reading my words, all different scenes in the book coming up in my dreams. It was so strange, a bit like having a creative caesarian. Anyway it’s thrilling to know that people will soon be experiencing - and hopefully - enjoying the fruits of my labour. (bad pun)

Looking forward to the launch, and to reading it. The cover looks great - atmospheric but also heartwarming, calming and quiet but not desolate. (Also looking forward to having my own version of that ‘first moment’ feeling … one day).
